North Ostrobothnia’s Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment has granted Nordic Talc Oy a company development grant from the EU regional and structural policy program “Innovation and skills in Finland 2021-2027” for the project “Improving the energy and material efficiency of the Suomussalmi talc project”.
The aim is to investigate the improving of the energy and material efficiency of the flotation technology of the Suomussalmi talc project. The aim is to improve the selectivity of minerals to produce a high-quality talc product and to enhance the beneficiation of tailings. The advantage of the method is also relatively lower energy consumption per produced volume.
The project will be completed latest in February 2024.
