By-product Assessment of the Suomussalmi talc project has been completed

In the project, both the suitability of the by-product of the talc project for further processing, as well as its product properties and utilization possibilities were investigated. The main goals of the project were achieved and, based on the results obtained, it is possible to choose possible methods and application areas suitable for further processing.

The company will continue its investigations and look for new partnerships for productization of the by-product. Utilization of the by-product would improve the resource efficiency and profitability of the project and support national and EU-level goals.

The North Ostrobothnia’s Centre for Economic, Transport and Environmental has granted the project a company development grant from the Just Transition Fund (JTF).
