Nordic Talc Oy has been accepted to join UN Global Compact

Nordic Talc Oy is pleased to announce that we have joined the United Nations Global Compact initiative — a voluntary leadership platform for the development, implementation, and disclosure of responsible business practices.

The UN Global Compact is a call to companies everywhere to align their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption, and to take action in support of UN goals and issues embodied in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Launched in 2000, the UN Global Compact is the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world, with more than 15,000 companies and 3,000 non-business signatories based in over 160 countries, and more than 70 Local Networks.

Nordic Talc and Kajave agreed on planning of a new power line connection

Nordic Talc Oy and Kajave Oy have agreed to start planning a new power line connection. The new power line connection enables the power needed for Nordic Talc’s production. At the same time, it strengthens Ylä-Kainuu’s distribution network and also enables the development of other business activities, tourism and green transition projects in the area.

The study supported by the ELY Centre promoted the talc project in Suomussalmi

Tulikivi Oyj has completed the project “Study on the geology and geotechnical engineering of the Haaponen deposit and the usability of the mineral for the manufacture of selected products on an industrial scale”, for which it has received a business development grant from the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment for Northern Ostrobothnia. The grant received has been very significant in moving the project forward.
